Dedicated Staff
Kristine Majors, RN, MS Owner Kristine Majors currently co-owns and oversees all aspects of clinical operations at ICTS. She works with sponsors and contract research organizations to procure the appropriate studies with indications that match the principal investigator's preferences. Kristine has over 15 years of experience in conducting her own investigator initiated research and is published in medical journals. Over the past 22 years, she has completed clinical trials in cardiology, dermatology, family practice, gastroenterology, internal medicine, pain management, and pediatrics. She graduated with an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree in Nursing. She obtained her bachelor's of Science degree from the College of Saint Francis and completed her Master of Science in Education at Drake University in 1997.
Joe Majors Owner Joe Majors co-owns ICTS and acts as the director of administration. He currently handles all regulatory issues, oversees drug administration, and provides backup for study coordinators. Mr. Majors studied Business Management at Ohio State University. Joe Majors is also the creator of "Prepared," a job search program.
James Coggi M.D. Investigator
James Coggi M.D. has been with Integrated Clinical Trial Services, Inc. (ICTS) as a principal investigator (P.I.) since 2006 involving many therapeutic areas. He is board-certified in pediatric medicine and specializes in newborn, pediatric and adolescent care. He has an active private practice located right next door to ICTS with a connecting door between the two clinics. Over the years, Dr. Coggi has completed numerous adult clinical trials with vast experience within the dermatology and respiratory arena. He genuinely enjoys participating in clinical trials and appreciates being on the cutting edge of medicine and “assisting patients in advancing tomorrow’s medicines today.” Dr. Coggi brings valuable research experience to ICTS and provides great hands-on teaching with the whole research team. He is very knowledgeable in both adult and pediatric medicine and is a true pleasure to have working within the research industry and clinic.
Abdur Ayoob M.D.
Dr. Ayoob is a board-certified Pediatrician and Pediatric Hospitalist with 12 years of clinical experience in caring for pediatric patients across inpatient, outpatient and newborn settings. He is skilled in assessing and treating a wide range of pediatric conditions. Dr. Ayoob works with multidisciplinary teams in a variety of different clinical settings at a busy children’s hospital. He’s an enthusiastic collaborator with team members to provide evidence-based treatments for patients while minimizing risk and adverse side effects. He is also involved in resident and medical student education and currently serve on the Pediatric Residency Program Evaluation Committee. Dr. Ayoob joined ICTS in 2023 to support and oversee both adult and pediatric FDA approved clinical trials clinical trials.
Michael Jackson M.D.
Dr. Jackson is a native of Flint, Michigan, where at the age of six he developed the desire to become a doctor. As a leading interventional orthopedic and pain recovery physician in the Greater Midwest, Dr. Jackson is specialty-trained in Interventional Orthopedics. His worth in Restorative Medicine focuses on providing pain recovery.
As a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), Dr. Jackson has been practicing occupational and sports medicine for over 20 years. He is board-certified with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine.
Dr. Jackson’s work in Restorative Medicine focuses primarily on providing pain recovery. Managing pain that comes from musculoskeletal conditions fails to address the patient's overall health and wellness. As a result, Dr. Jackson works with patients to improve biomechanics and reduce disability, thus improving their physical function and allowing them to return to many normal daily activities. He is interested in participating as a principal investigator in multiple therapeutic areas at ICTS to be a part of developing new potential treatment options that can be offered to his patients.
Sarah Parrott D.O. , FAAFP
Dr. Parrott is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and is the Chair and Associate Professor of family practice at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is trained to take care of patients of all ages and ethnicities from infancy to centurions. She enjoys partnering with patients who have multiple chronic conditions to set and meet each patient’s health care needs. One of Dr. Parrott’s passions that she finds professionally rewarding is teaching and mentoring medical students.
Besides teaching and mentoring medical students, Dr. Parrott also enjoys and appreciates being on the cutting edge for potential new treatments for her patients. She joined Integrated Clinical Trial Services, Inc. in January 2023 and is excited to participate in clinical trials with a variety of indications. She has special interests in obesity management as well as providing compassionate care for the LGBTQ+ and diverse populations.
Mary Barkley
Mary joined ICTS as a Sub-Investigator in January of 2023. According to Mary, she has always been a scientist at heart and is very curious about the seven wonders of the world. As a family practice nurse her curiosity grew into research and a love for evidence-based literature. She has a twenty-year career in trauma nursing, cardiac intensive care, and burn neuro trauma unit(s). She was charged with reviewing and implementing best practices for trauma patients and in 2010 Mary earned the distinguished status of the Nurse Excellence Award. She has presented at national meetings and is published.
Since research is a vital part of Mary’s FNP-C practice of applying evidence-based literature with patient care and education, she became interested in being involved in the clinical trials arena. Mary is a very patient centric health care provider and has a passion for pursuing best practices and driving positive patient outcomes. She is thrilled to be a part of the ICTS team and is excited to be on the cutting edge of potential new treatment options for her patients.
Christie Collins P.A. Christie graduated from Des Moines University in 2015 with her masters in physician assistant studies. She completed her undergraduate work studying fine art/photography at Arizona State University in 2003 before transitioning into health care. Christie has been working in the Urgent Care setting since graduating in 2015. She joined ICTS in 2023 and is excited about working in the field of clinical trials research.
Brett Majors General Manager
Brett Majors graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Simpson College. He has been with our team since 2007 and is currently the site general manager.
Shelby Simpson BS, CCP Clinical Trials Manager
Shelby Simpson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with an emphasis in research methods from Kaplan University. Shelby is a critical care paramedic registered through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and the state of Iowa. She has experience as a paramedic with emergency transports and interfacility pediatric/neonatal transports. In 2017, she joined Integrated Clinical Trial Services, Inc. as a study research coordinator. As of January, 2021, Shelby serves as the Clinical Trials Manager and oversees all aspects of clinical trials within the clinic.
Janet Ewing RN Research Nurse
Janet (Jae) is a graduate of NIACC in Mason City, Iowa with her Associates Degree in Nursing. Jae comes with several years of experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and infertility. She has worked at Mercy One Des Moines, The Iowa Clinic Ankeny, and Mercy One North Iowa in Mason City. She, along with a team of physicians, have been active in implementing new and innovative procedures in women’s health. Jae has a passion for being on the cusp of research and is very excited about clinical trial research. Jae joined Integrated Clinical Trial Services in 2020, as a study research nurse.
Jessica Zahn
Jessica graduated from the Univesity of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Human Physiology with an emphasis in Health Studies. Jessica has previous research experience by working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a Clinical research Assistant in the Pulmonary Research department. In 2023, Jessica joined Integraed Clinical Trial Services as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
